Darcy + Clark's romantic wedding day at All Souls Church + National Press Club
Every couple should have a meet-cute. Darcy + Clark, in true DC fashion, met at the World Bank! Fast forward to now, and they tied the knot at my very favorite District Church, All Souls, on 16th St in Columbia Heights. And did photos in Meridian Hill Park. And celebrated at the National Press Club. And Darcy got ready at the Willard, mere steps from the White House. And their initials together are DC! These two are better together than apart, and wow, was their wedding day ever special. The morning started out rainy, but the clouds parted and sun came out to celebrate with us by sunset! Could this day have been any more special? I really don't think so...
The details in the wedding are to DIE for. Classic and elegant. And mostly DIY!! Darcy printed their invitations at home, and her mom, who spent time as a florist, made some of the most beautiful bouquets I've ever seen at a wedding!
The necklace Darcy wore was passed down from her grandmother. Diligent searching online yielded earrings that matched almost perfectly.
Also, Darcy made this beautiful sea green and cherry blossom-motif ceramic box. Because she's amazing and talented.
You guys, these bridal portraits. Darcy was just so perfect! I felt like I was photographing a moment out of an old masters painting. For the record, this is why beautiful light in your bridal suite is so important. This is what it gets you!
Eeeee! I love veils! I wish there were more excuses for veils in everyday life.
While I was with Team Bride at the Willard, Kian headed over to meet with Clark and Team Groom, getting ready at the couple's apartment. I wasn't there, so I can't say for sure, but I'm pretty certain these guys had more fun than is technically allowed on a wedding day ;-)
All Souls is such a stunning old church. And the soft pink glow so perfectly set off Darcy's sea foam and blush colors. So beautiful.
The sun! And such perfect timing! Rain on your wedding day may be lucky, but if you can have it both ways and have a golden sunset, well, how could life get any better?!
This. Cupcake. Topper. Darcy + Clark are big periodicals fans, so this was perfect. Why am I freaking out above and beyond that? Because their cake topper matched their engagement session outfits PERFECTLY!
