Fell's Point & Mt. Vernon Baltimore engagement session | Amy + Alan
You know when you meet someone, and they immediately put you at ease, and are the friendliest, most considerate people you could ever hope to meet? That's Amy + Alan! I drove up to their terrific Baltimore neighborhood, Mt. Vernon, on Labor Day, to meet them in person and capture their engagement session.
When I arrived on their doorstep, we immediately bonded over their awesome apartment building, then hopped in the car to head a few block over (I had a sprained ankle, or we totally could have walked it!) to the beautiful historic square that's one of their favorite spots. It's been under construction almost the entire time they've lived in Baltimore, and they joked that it finished just in time for their photos!
There's just so much to love about Amy + Alan's story... from the fact that as a native son of Baltimore, Alan's getting married in the same church and reception venue that his parents did, to the adorable story (it ends well, I swear! they're getting married!) of how the first time they hung out together just the two of them, Alan got hit by a car.
From Mt. Vernon, we hopped back in the car and drove over to Fell's Point, where Alan proposed to Amy super-early one morning, right on the water! Fell's Point is one of their favorite places in Baltimore, and we had a lot of fun introducing me to what makes it great, from their favorite restaurant, Jimmy's, to a shared love of Pitango gelato. They even surprised me with some Otterbein's cookies, a hometown favorite!
We timed our walk out on the boardwalk just perfect for "glowy" light, and in their swapped-out second outfit, I really felt like I was shooting some commercial campaign for Ralph Lauren or something like that. With the sailboats, the boardwalk, and the old sugar factory in the background, could this get any sweeter? Count me in as Baltimore's newest fan -- and Amy + Alan's, too!
