Megan + Nate's Paris destination newlywed session at Jardins des Tuileries
I am SO excited to share this beautiful session! Megan + Nate are friends of mine who hail from Washington DC. They tied the knot in Virginia on June 3, 2017 -- the same weekend this summer that I jetted off for two weeks of travel to Iceland and Paris! A few days after I did, they hopped on a plane to celebrate their union with a two-week tour of France, beginning and ending in Paris. When we realized we'd be in Paris at the same time, it was kismet! There are so many gorgeous options for photos in Paris, but I captured this golden moment in their lives with a sun-drenched stroll through the Jardin des Tuileries on a midsummer’s evening (before a quick stop outside the Louvre and a night at one of Paris' best wine bars!)
If you've never been, Tuileries was created by Catherine de Medici in 1564 as the garden of the Palais des Tuileries, the Parisian residence of French monarchs. For over two centuries the gardens have been a place where Parisians and visitors celebrate, stroll, and relax. What better place to celebrate love?
For Nate + Megan, what began on a bike ride through the cherry blossoms of the National Mall blossomed into a relationship built on exploring the outdoors on two feet and two wheels. Runs, rides, and races keep these two constantly on the move, so an outdoor photo shoot was the natural setting for celebrating their nuptials on a gorgeous June evening.
500 years after Catherine de Medici built Tuileries, Megan + Nate continued building their own love story in this classic Parisian garden. Her twirly skirt! The way he looks at her! Their effortless style! I love, love, love these two awesome humans.
