Chelsea + Zack's low-key romantic urban wedding at Toolbox DC | Washington DC wedding photography
Holy hot sauce, there is SO MUCH to love about Chelsea + Zack's wedding. First of all, Chelsea + Zack are friends of friends, which means they're totally my kind of people. When they told me they were getting married at a yoga studio / art gallery, I got really excited. When Google Maps told me that said yoga studio / art gallery was situated in an alleyway a 4-minute walk from my house, I got REALLY REALLY excited. Toolbox Studio has quickly become one of my favorite wedding venues for it's great location, chill urban vibe, and lovely interiors, and I'm so excited to get back there for a few weddings in my 2017 season!
To kick off the day, Chelsea + Zack relaxed and got ready with friends at two separate AirBnBs in the Dupont Circle neighborhood, where Toolbox is (and where I live)! They chose not to have a wedding party, but when I arrived at Chelsea's spot, she was relaxing with 10-15 of her amazing friends, and they'd ordered District Taco for lunch. Then, she stepped away for just a few minutes to put on her dress -- how stunning is she?!
Once Chelsea was dressed, we hopping in a taxi and headed across Rock Creek to one of my favorite "secret garden" parks in Georgetown for some gorgeous bridal portraits. Then, when Zack arrived with my second shooter Chris, we'd hidden Chelsea behind the closed gate, perfect for their first look!
My friend Kristen, who introduced met to Chelsea, and our friend Mary, who's getting married at Toolbox later this year!
Their ceremony was one of my favorite to date. Zack walked down the aisle with my favorite ceremony prop to date -- a hilarious pro wrestling belt, and their gorgeous Italian Greyhound brought the rings down the aisle!
